Just discovered this website, "White Squirrel Mapping" described as a "community of white squirrel enthusiasts [who] help scientists locate and study these rare animals!"

Welcome to my blog!!!!
Hi! This is --. Well, call me Isabel.
Did you find this blog from reading the short story Moby Squirrel? If so, you are ESPECIALLY welcome here!!!! (If not, this would be a good time to read it so you know that this blog is meant as a joke.) I'm just brimming with great parenting advice from raising my own precocious little darlings. Be sure to check out all the photographs of Emma and Michael eating, sleeping, walking, running, standing, jumping, staring, biking, drinking, talking, reading, smiling, thinking, etc. When you are done with those, check out my excellent advice on educational field trips, favorite Mozart symphonies for brain development, and healthy eating.
We live in Morris Mill, New Jersey. It's a tiny, squirrel-infected (and entirely fictitious) town on the Millstone River somewhere near the (real) towns of Kingston and Rocky Hill. If you want to read more about Morris Mill, check out the short story "Morris Mill's Mascot."

Helicopter Parents: Where Are They?
Nowadays, you read so many news articles against helicopter parenting that you might start to wonder, why aren't the helicopter parents speaking out in their own defense?
I'll tell you why: it's because we are very busy. You might not realize just how time consuming hovering can be. I start my day early in the morning before the kids are up. I make myself some coffee and then plan out every minute of their day. By the time I wake them up (sensitive kids shouldn't be subjected to the harsh sound of alarm clocks), I have a complete and nutritious breakfast waiting for them. After I get them dressed, brush their teeth, and get them on the school bus with their double-checked lunch bags and school bags, I do all their chores and call around to schedule play dates (and check out the families of their friends to make sure they're the right kind of people) and after-school sports and other activities. Then I call their teachers with a long list of topics I think should be covered more thoroughly. Remember: teachers appreciate involved parents! Keep in mind, I'm also texting the kids through-out the day to hear how they're doing. Once the kids done with school and after-school activities, we do their homework together, eat dinner while talking about their day (and our feelings about their day), call the teachers to talk some more, and then it's already time for me to brush their teeth again! We're very particular about dental hygiene.
That's why you don't hear helicopter parents speaking out.
